Compost Sale Notes - Updated May 15th, 2023
Currently no compost is available for sale. Compost is available for residents as we have batches that have been cured and screened. Our last batch has all been sold. Our next batch is being made currently and is not anticipated to be ready until mid-June, but is partially weather dependent.
Loading Notes
With a signed liability waiver & $20 loading fee, city staff are available by appointment only on Fridays from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm for loading assistance on large loads of compost or wood chips (when available). Compost is sold only to residents, no commercial or contractor operations. Please request this appointment through the compost gatekeeper.
Permitted Materials
Disposable plastic bags are not allowed to enter the facility. Tree root balls/stumps are not accepted.
The facility accepts tree debris and yard waste. The Street Division processes some of the yard waste materials into compost. There is a charge for all materials coming in and compost going out. When available, cut-your-own firewood (at your risk) and wood chips are available at no cost.
The local landfill does not accept trees, branches, leaves, brush, or yard and garden waste for disposal. These items should be brought to the Compost Facility.
