Iowa River Trail
The Iowa River Trail includes 34 miles of former rail line stretching from Marshalltown to Steamboat Rock in Hardin County. The City of Marshalltown is an active partner in the trail project. RDG Planning & Design selected to complete the Placemaking Plan
RDG Planning & Design was selected to complete the Iowa River Trail Placemaking Master Plan. They are working with a dedicated advisory committee represented by the City of Marshalltown and the two trail organizations in Marshall and Hardin county. Watch for more information about public participation opportunities as the process moves forward.
Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation grant awarded.
The Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation has awarded up to an additional $50,000 to support the Iowa River Trail Master Plan project. This additional funding will support more detailed conceptual plans at identified locations along the trail.
National Endowment for the Arts - Our Town Grant Program
The City is proud to receive an Our Town Grant award in the amount of $25,000 to assist in the Master Plan related to public art inclusion, way finding and trail head development.
