[ARCHIVED] Sexual Abuse Arrest

On November 30, 2017, an adult female reported to officers she was sexually assaulted during the summer of 2014. According to the victim, she had an injury in 2014 and was referred to a local man who performed massages in his home. During the massage session, the suspect, according to the victim, sexually assaulted her. After completing interviews with the victim, a witness and the suspect, the case was sent to the Marshall County Attorney’s Office for review. Upon review, it was recommended the suspect be charged with 3rd-degree Sexual Abuse, which is a class C felony. On February 4, 2018, at about 5:00 pm, Jose Luis Ramirez-Sanchez, age 62 of Marshalltown, was taken into custody at the police department. His initial court appearance is scheduled for February 7, 2018. Mr. Ramirez-Sanchez was arrested by the Marshalltown Police Department in June 2017 for a similar crime. A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
