On September 20, 2025, at approximately 1947 hours, Marshalltown Police received a call of a shooting in the 800 Block of East Main Street. When officers arrived in the area, they found that two victims had been shot. The suspect had left the area on foot. Both reported victims were transported by medical staff to Unity Point Health. One victim was treated and released, and another was transported to an out-of-county medical center. The second victim's status is currently unknown.
Officers conducting the investigation are currently looking for a person of interest. The person was last seen running southbound in the 900 Block of East Main Street, wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt. Officers are currently searching for:
Dewey Elvie Perdue, 69-year-old male, 5-09” tall and approximately 205 pounds. Mr. Perdue is currently at large and is considered armed and dangerous. If you are aware of his location, please contact 911 immediately.
