The City of Marshalltown is seeking voluntary applicants for a vacancy on the Solid Waste Commission. The Marshall County Landfill is owned and operated by The Solid Waste Management Commission of Marshall County which includes the cities of Albion, Clemons, Collins, Colo, Ferguson, Gilman, Haverhill, Laurel, LeGrand, Liscomb, Marshalltown, Melbourne, Rhodes, St. Anthony, State Center, Whitten and Marshall County at large. The Solid Waste Commission of Marshall County has semi-annual meetings in the Spring and Fall. The Fall meeting is scheduled for November 21, 2023. Attendance and participation at these meetings are essential to the operation of the Commission and directly affect the ability to serve the Solid Waste needs of your committee. Interested applicants can complete an application on the City of Marshalltown website https://www.marshalltown-ia.gov/FormCenter/Boards-Commissions-6/Application-for-Appointment-to-Boards-an-44. Applications will be accepted through October 27, 2023 for first review by the Mayor. Appointments must then be confirmed by the City Council.
