On August 31, 2023, at 12:01pm, the Marshalltown Police Department arrested Hector Manuel Leon Tunchez, age 26, of Marshalltown. He has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. The defendant was taken to the Marshall County Jail and is being held pending further court proceedings.
This arrest was made following an investigation that began on May 4, 2023. Allegations involve the abuse of a juvenile female who reported she was sexually abused in May of 2022. This investigation is continuing.
(A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.)
