HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS MATERIAL DROP-OFF DAY IS COMING TO MARSHALLTOWN!


WHEN: Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

WHERE: Marshalltown Water Pollution Control Plant located @ 1001 Woodland Street (East of Riverview Park)

 THE DETAILS: The City of Marshalltown has partnered with The Solid Waste Management Commission of Marshall County and Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-off to bring its residents the opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous materials - be sure to join us! 

Accepted materials include:

  -Stain and varnish

  -Paint remover and thinner

  -Gasoline and kerosene

  -Windshield washer solution

  -Aerosol cleaners

  -Drain and oven cleaners

  -Metal polishes and rust removers

  -Oil- and lead-based paint

  -Ammonia-based cleaners

  -Rechargeable batteries

  -Petroleum-based adhesives

  -Glues, caulk, contact cements and resins

  -Fertilizers, pesticides, and weed killers


 

Items that  will not  be accepted include:

 -Latex paint*

 -Used motor oil*

 -Used oil filters*

 -Lead acid batteries*

 -Needles*

 -Ammunition

 -Explosives

 -Asbestos

 -Radioactive material

 -Fire extinguishers

 -Compressed gas cylinders
