Beginning June 1, 2018, the sale of fireworks may begin from fixed building sites in the City of Marshalltown and the State of Iowa, and on June 13, 2018 sales from temporary tent locations are allowed.  Sales are allowed at these facilities through July 8, 2018.  Please remember while the sale of fireworks is allowed the use or discharge, with the exception of novelty fireworks, is prohibited. If you are caught setting off fireworks in Marshalltown you could be charged with a simple misdemeanor and issued a fine of $250.  If you are a property owner or are renting a property and knowingly allowing fireworks to be set-off from your property, you could be issued a civil citation which has a first offense fine of $750.

Have a safe summer and Fourth of July!
