Geoff Hubbard, Parks and Recreation Director, was recently honored with the Slattery/Trueblood Professional award, which is the Iowa Parks & Recreation Association's (IPRA) highest professional award. Geoff was surprised to be receiving the award, which was unknown to him until his name was announced. "I am truly humbled in receiving this award from my peers," Geoff stated. "Every one of us in this profession give some much of themselves to making their communities a great place to live, work and play and it is a great honor to receive this award from them and be recognized for all the accomplishments I've had over the years! I still have a lot I want to accomplish in the next 10 years here in Marshalltown and this award is a boost to ensure that I make them happen."
Geoff started as Parks & Recreation Director with the City of Marshalltown in January 2019, but brought many years of experience from other Iowa communities with him.
