Marshalltown Police Department Arrests Burglar

On July 5, 2022, the Marshalltown Police Department responded to a residential burglary involving a home on Grant Street. The homeowner reported forced entry into the residence and multiple items being stolen from the residence. Marshalltown police officers were able to collect evidence on scene that ultimately solved the case.

On September 9, 2022, the Marshalltown Police Department executed two search warrants related to this investigation. Officers recovered stolen property and made an arrest in connection to the investigation. This investigation continues.

Christopher Wayne Haller, age 37, of Marshalltown was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary-3rd Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Theft-3rd Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor)
  • Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs (Serious Misdemeanor)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)
