Public safety agencies from across Marshall County are partnering with the Marshalltown Community College to conduct a mass casualty drill on Friday, June 10, from 12:00pm-5:00pm. This drill will be conducted at the Marshalltown Community College. The drill will include public safety organizations from law enforcement, fire and EMS services. Marshall County 911 is also participating. This drill will be based on an active shooter scenario. Public safety agencies have been planning this exercise since November 2021. You will see a large law enforcement, fire and EMS presence at the Marshalltown Community College on June 10. Please remember this is only a drill.
Training and preparing for large scale emergencies is critically important. This type of training allows public safety agencies to test skills, procedures and tactics so we can effectively prepare for emergency events. We want to thank the Iowa Valley Community College District and the Marshalltown Community College for their help and support in planning this training exercise.
