Did you know home fires occur more in the winter months than any other time of the year? Follow these tips to help prevent winter fires and stay safe this winter.
1. Place space heaters on a solid, flat surface. Keep them at least 3 feet from things that can burn.
2. Check your space heater for cracked or damaged cords and plugs.
3. Plug space heaters directly into wall outlets, don’t use an extension cord or power strip.
4. Turn off portable heaters when not in the room.
