On Tuesday, March 13, the Marshalltown Police Department will kick-off the 2018 Citizens Police Academy. The academy runs every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with most classes held in the Marshalltown City Council Chambers located at 10 W State St. Application deadline for this year’s academy is Friday March 9, 2018 at 5:00 pm
This year’s academy class runs from March 13 thru May 15. Each session will cover a variety of different and interesting topics all taught by employees of the Marshalltown Police Department. This is not, just classroom presentations. Students are encouraged to take part in the actual hands on activities supervised by the various instructors.

The Marshalltown Police Department Citizens Academy is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the police department and its many facets. A criminal history check on all interested individuals is mandatory prior to their acceptance into the academy.
