Child Seat Inspections
The Marshalltown Police Department is committed to promoting child safety in our community. Our certified Child Safety Seat Technicians will provide a free evaluation of your child’s safety seat to ensure proper use and installation. This program makes replacement seats available to those in need.
Replacement Seats
Replacement seats are funded solely through donations. We have been very fortunate to be supported by Al Hoop, who has made multiple donations in memory of his wife, Donna Hoop, who was an advocate of child safety.
More Information
Here you will find a brochure with more information on the program and a program flyer for posting. Please call 641-754-5725 to make an appointment with a technician.
Donations
Program donations may be made out to the Marshalltown Police Department, notating "Child Safety Seat Program" in the memo and mailed or dropped off at 909 South 2nd St, Marshalltown, IA. Thank you for your support of this important community program.
Ride-Along Program
This program allows civilian community members to ride with police personnel and observe 911 operations. It provides the opportunity for expanding understanding between the community and their police department.
To request a ride-along please complete and return this waiver to the police department or return by email to Captain Christopher Jones at cjones@marshalltown-ia.gov.
Extra-Duty Employment Services
Police Officers may be hired for contracted services such as traffic control and pedestrian safety, crowd control, security and protection or life and property, routine law enforcement for public authorities, and plainclothes assignments. Services are charged at $45 per hour, with a minimum of two hours.
Please call 641-754-5729 to request these services.
Emergency Snow Route
During the winter season the city will declare a winter storm emergency if there is a forecast of two or more inches of snow.
During this time, an on-street parking ban will be put into effect on designated snow routes and all vehicles must be removed from the street at that time. The parking ban will be posted through local media, the City of Marshalltown website and Facebook page. Review the emergency snow route map (PDF).
Keeping our roads clear is a citywide partnership to ensure safe travel for our community.
