Doggie Dip

This popular dog swim at the Aquatic Center is cancelled for 2019.  Iowa State regulations now require the aquatic center to keep chlorine at higher levels necessary for humans during Doggie Dips, and those high levels are unsafe for dogs.

This past year the state of Iowa changed the regulation for Doggie Dip time to be like a normal swim day, knowing kids and parents were going to get into the water with their dogs … to keep people safe … and that is not an ideal level for pets.

Typically when the pool closes for the season to humans it is time for the dogs to have some fun and splash in the Aquatic Center! Humans are allowed in the water at their own risk with their dog(s).

The Doggie Dip Rules may also be view at the Parks and Recreation Office and the Aquatic Center, prior to the Doggie Dip. To gain entry to the event dog owners must show documentation of their dog(s) current rabies and distemper vaccinations. No dogs in heat are allowed.
