Parks & Recreation

Marshalltown Parks and Recreation oversees the care and management of approximately 200 acres of parks and open space, including 22 parks, an aquatic center, rental shelters, and a campground.  Parks & Recreation also plans annual recreation activities, sports, and special events.  The Parks Division takes care of City streetscapes, landscaping beds, and assists with right-of-way tree maintenance.

  • Registrations are now being taken for all summer activities including Summer Blast, Camp Marshalltown, tennis lessons, and swim lessons
  • The Linn Creek Trail is open from Riverview Park to Grimes Farm
  • The Riverview Campground opens April 22 for the season
  • The Marshalltown Family Aquatic Center will open June 2, get your season passes today in the Parks & Recreation Office
  • Trees Forever will be planting trees in several parks from 10am-noon on Saturday, April 23, 2022.  Meet at the red barn in Riverview Park if you'd like to help plant
